Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct exists to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all learners, mentors, and team members at Designient Technologies Private Limited ("Designient", "we", "us", or "our").
By enrolling in our courses or participating in our programs, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct. This Code should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions and activities within Designient's learning environment, including but not limited to:
- Live classes: All scheduled live sessions, workshops, and interactive classes
- Recorded sessions: Access to and use of recorded course materials
- WhatsApp communities: All group chats, community discussions, and messaging channels
- One-on-one mentorship calls: Individual mentoring sessions and consultations
- Official communication channels: Email, phone calls, support tickets, and any other official Designient communication platforms
- Course platforms: Learning management systems, portals, and online resources
This Code applies to all learners, mentors, staff members, and anyone participating in Designient's programs or using our services.
Expected Behaviour
To maintain a positive and productive learning environment, learners are expected to:
- Be respectful: Treat mentors, peers, and staff members with respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times
- Participate constructively: Engage in discussions, activities, and learning exercises in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Follow session guidelines: Adhere to session schedules, guidelines, and instructions provided by mentors
- Use learning resources responsibly: Access and use course materials, tools, and resources only for their intended educational purposes
- Maintain confidentiality: Respect the privacy of fellow learners and keep shared information confidential
- Provide constructive feedback: Share feedback and suggestions in a respectful and helpful manner
- Support peers: Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for everyone
Unacceptable Behaviour
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated:
Prohibited Conduct:
- Harassment or abusive language: Any form of harassment, bullying, intimidation, or use of offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language
- Discrimination: Discrimination based on gender, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected category
- Disrupting sessions or mentors: Intentionally disrupting live sessions, interrupting mentors, or interfering with the learning experience of others
- Sharing pirated, illegal, or copyrighted content: Distributing, sharing, or promoting pirated software, illegal content, or copyrighted materials without authorization
- Recording sessions without permission: Recording live sessions, mentorship calls, or any Designient content without explicit written permission
- Sharing internal or paid content publicly: Sharing course materials, recordings, templates, tools, or any paid Designient content on public platforms, social media, or with unauthorized persons
- Misuse of platforms: Using Designient's communication channels or platforms for spam, advertising, or unauthorized commercial purposes
- Academic dishonesty: Plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresenting work as your own
- Violation of privacy: Sharing personal information of others without consent or violating confidentiality
This list is not exhaustive. Designient reserves the right to determine what constitutes unacceptable behavior based on the context and circumstances of each situation.
Mentor Authority
Mentors and Designient staff members have the authority to maintain order and ensure a productive learning environment. This includes:
- Removing learners from live sessions: Mentors may remove learners from live sessions if their behavior disrupts the learning environment or violates this Code of Conduct
- Reporting misconduct: Mentors and staff may report violations of this Code for further review and action by Designient's management
- Providing guidance: Mentors may provide guidance, warnings, or corrections to help learners understand and follow expected behavior
- Managing discussions: Mentors may moderate discussions, redirect conversations, or manage participation to ensure productive learning
Learners are expected to respect and comply with mentor instructions and decisions during sessions. If you have concerns about a mentor's actions, please contact Designient management through official channels.
Consequences of Violation
Designient takes violations of this Code of Conduct seriously. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, Designient reserves the right to:
- Issue warnings: Verbal or written warnings for minor violations or first-time offenses
- Temporarily suspend access: Temporary suspension from live sessions, course materials, or communication channels
- Terminate enrollment: Immediate termination of enrollment and access to all Designient services
- No refund: In cases of serious or repeated violations, enrollment may be terminated without refund, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions
- Revoke access: Immediate revocation of access to all course materials, platforms, and resources
- Report to authorities: In cases involving illegal activities, Designient may report violations to appropriate authorities as required by law
The specific consequence will be determined by Designient based on the severity of the violation, whether it is a repeated offense, and the impact on the learning environment.
Final Decision
Decisions taken by Designient regarding conduct violations, including warnings, suspensions, or terminations, are final. Designient will review each situation carefully and make decisions based on the facts, this Code of Conduct, and our Terms and Conditions.
If you believe a decision was made in error, you may contact Designient management to provide additional context or information. However, Designient retains the right to make final determinations regarding conduct violations.

AI Track Student Obligations
Students enrolled in the AI Automation Accelerator and AI Product Design Course build and deploy systems that may affect people beyond the Designient cohort | including the clients, leads, and end users whose data flows through student-built automation workflows. This section sets out the conduct obligations specific to AI Track students.
These obligations are in addition to, not in place of, the general student conduct expectations in the rest of this Code of Conduct.
1. Responsible Use of Automation Tools
You may only use tools taught in Designient courses for lawful purposes. You must not use n8n, Make, ManyChat, Relevance AI, Claude API, or any other tool introduced in the curriculum to:
- Collect, process, or store personal data without the knowledge and consent of the individuals whose data is being collected
- Send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) via WhatsApp, email, or any other channel
- Scrape personal data from websites or platforms in violation of those platforms' terms of service
- Build or deploy automation workflows that facilitate fraud, deception, or financial harm to any person
- Impersonate any individual or organisation in automated communications
- Circumvent security systems, access controls, or authentication mechanisms on any platform
- Process sensitive personal data categories | including health data, financial data, or data of minors | without appropriate legal basis and technical safeguards
2. Compliance with Data Protection Law
When you deploy a workflow or automation that collects, processes, or stores personal data from real people in any commercial or operational context, you become a data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. This means:
- You must have a lawful basis for collecting that data
- You must inform individuals whose data you collect about what you are collecting and why
- You must respond to requests from individuals to access, correct, or delete their data
- You must implement reasonable security measures to protect the data your workflow holds
- You must not retain data longer than necessary for the stated purpose
Designient's curriculum includes responsible data handling guidance as an educational resource. This guidance does not constitute legal advice. If you are unsure whether a workflow you are building is compliant with applicable law, seek independent legal advice before deploying it commercially.
3. WhatsApp and ManyChat Conduct
Students who build WhatsApp automation workflows using ManyChat during the AI Automation Accelerator must comply with:
- WhatsApp's Business Policy (whatsapp.com/legal/business-policy)
- Meta's Messaging Guidelines for WhatsApp Business
- ManyChat's Terms of Service (manychat.com/terms)
Specifically, you must not:
- Send bulk messages to individuals who have not opted in to receive communications from you
- Use ManyChat flows to send promotional messages to individuals without their prior consent
- Represent yourself or your business falsely in any automated WhatsApp communication
- Build workflows that harvest phone numbers without the explicit consent of the individuals being added
Violation of WhatsApp's Business Policy can result in your WhatsApp Business account being permanently banned. This is your responsibility, not Designient's.
4. Commercial Deployment During the Course
During the course, you are building automations for your own learning. If you choose to deploy these automations commercially | meaning you use them in a live business context with real customers or clients | you are doing so as an independent operator. Designient provides education only. Designient has no liability for the operation, output, or legal compliance of any automation you deploy commercially, including during the course period.
5. Sharing Automations and Workflows with Third Parties
Workflow files, n8n configurations, and ManyChat flows shared within the cohort are shared for educational purposes only. You may not:
- Sell or commercially redistribute workflow files or templates shared by Designient or fellow students
- Use another student's workflow commercially without that student's explicit written permission
- Claim authorship of a workflow or tool built primarily by another student or by Designient
Reporting AI Tool Misuse
If you become aware that a fellow student is using tools taught in a Designient course in a manner that violates this Code of Conduct | including collecting personal data without consent, sending spam, or deploying automations that harm third parties | you should report it.
How to report: Email [email protected] with subject line: Code of Conduct Report | AI Tool Misuse. Include a description of the conduct you observed and, if possible, supporting evidence. Reports can be made anonymously.
What happens after a report: Designient will review all reports within 5 working days. Where a violation is substantiated, Designient may take action including issuing a formal warning, removing the student from the cohort without refund, and where legally required, reporting the conduct to the relevant regulatory authority.
Designient does not have the ability to shut down or disable automations deployed on third-party platforms by students. If you believe an automation is causing active harm to individuals, you should also report it directly to the relevant platform (WhatsApp, ManyChat, n8n, Make, or Relevance AI) and, where appropriate, to the relevant law enforcement authority.
This Code of Conduct is part of and should be read together with our Terms and Conditions (including AI Track responsibilities in Section 15). In case of any conflict between this Code and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
Designient reserves the right to modify this Code of Conduct at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued participation in our programs after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Code of Conduct.
